THE TIME IS NOW FOR 24-7 PRAYER. The time has come for the Malaysian Church to rise to the call for unbroken prayer for the nation. There has been more than enough confirmation that this is the way the Church should go – that now is the time for all to commit ourselves to non-stop unbroken 24-7 prayer.
A COMMITMENT OF 2 YEARS. In the face of tragedies, challenges, a rapid deterioration in the sociopolitical situation, and intensifying pressures on the church, we believe that nothing less than a serious commitment to 2 years is needed in order to provide a prayer shield for this nation against disaster, and for its eventual recovery.
TO BE BLESSED AND BE A BLESSING. We believe that through the prayers of His people, God will use His Church to be a blessing to the nation, to be agents of peace and reconciliation, and to reach out to our neighbours in love, despite the difficulties and challenges faced.
COMMENCING SEPTEMBER 16, 2014 - MALAYSIA DAY. The official date of this 2-year commitment will commence on Malaysia Day, September 16, 2014, and will be launched at the Malaysia Day Prayer Celebration at Calvary Convention Centre, Bukit Jalil at 10AM..
All churches and prayer networks are urged to activate and mobilise your congregations and prayer groups accordingly and initiate your prayer chains even prior to the official commencement date.

Why the Call to 24-7 Prayer?
The members of Prayer United Committee came together recently and all were in unanimous agreement that Malaysia desperately needed to be soaked in prayer and the time is NOW. Indeed this conviction has been building up for some time through various prayer conferences and meetings we have had together.
Throughout history, God has used His people in unceasing prayer, especially in times of crisis like that lead up to the end of apartheid in South Africa, or for special breakthrough like that of the 100 years of 24-7 prayers by the Moravian Community which turned them into the vanguard of the great Protestant missionary movement in the Eighteenth & Nineteenth century. It was felt that the Malaysian Church ought to do likewise. Rather than ad-hoc prayer campaigns, it was time to call for a national movement of 24-7 prayer to call the Church back to holy living and unity, to provide a prayer shield for the nation against further deterioration and disaster, and to seek God's blessings and healing for spiritual-moral and sociopolitical recovery in our nation.
Getting Christians Together
Prayer United would like to encourage and challenge all churches to participate in this national prayer initiative to envelop the whole nation in prayer. You can do it through small prayer groups or in your local church. Better still, you do this through linking up all churches in your locality/region or in your denomination. You can do it in as many ways as the Lord lays it upon your hearts to do! The goal for each of us is to link ourselves into a 24-7 prayer chain of unbroken prayer.
Prayer Resources
Prayer United is committed to providing reliable prayer resources and informed prayer points to help you and your group to pray. As a general prayer guide we will be using the Pray4Malaysia document. This will be followed by bi-monthly prayer points, which will be disseminated through your respective prayer networks.
